Celia's has the best chile relleno I have experienced thus far. It's cooked perfectly and it's not too greasy and the flavors are outstanding. Their Chili Relleno Especial is especially-ly good! It comes with a side of shredded beef, which helps satiate us carnivores. I have been here many times and am always made to feel at home by the staff. I side, you'll find ample seating and plenty of space for large groups.

This is a place to bring your appetite. I love the chimichangas here and burritos. Also if you dont want mexican food they make a pretty solid burger. I have been going here since I was a kid. They have excellent salsa and chips to warm up with and a great staff. Indoor and outdoor seating Can't think of anything I have ever not enjoyed at this restaurant. Small awkward parking lot thats the only bad thing.

Nice servers, usually fat service, the food is nothjnf spectacular. Pretty average Mexican food. The chevelas and Michaela's are fire though! Parking can be a bit scarce at times. I've never had to wait for a table. Overall a good experience.

Celia's has good standard Mexican food. The margaritas are great and the menu has a good selection of vegetarian items. The portions are HUGE so come hungry or know that you have lunch for the next day. I love the patio in the warm weather too. Great place!

I love Mexican food and a great margarita. This place has both. My friend took me here once before and I asked to be taken there again. Love the paintings on the walls. It enhances the atmosphere. I definitely will be back.

I've been going to Celia's since I was a young child. I grew up in San Mateo and we used to go the one there once a week as a family. Growing up, my favorite thing was tacos with rice and beans, along with a Shirley Temple. My mom used to order the Chile Relleno and my dad, the number 8 (an avocado tostada with rice and beans). It's amazing how some memories stay with us. Since we were regulars, we seemed to always good service (or that's how I remember it). I don't have one super close to me anymore because I'm not in San Mateo, however, if I'm meeting someone for lunch or dinner that lives on the peninsula I will always suggest meeting at Celias in either Palo Alto or Menlo Park. The Menlo Park seems to be a busier so because of the location and laid back atmosphere of the Palo Alto restaurant, that is usually where I go. I went recently and decided I needed to write a review. While it seems like such a small thing, Celia's refried beans are what I grew up on and is my standard that I look for in all other Mexican places. The only place that has come close (but no longer around) was El Burro in Campbell. I tend to order the same thing every time but will sometimes switch it up depending on my mood. Their espresso burrito is such a nice blend of many flavors that it's one of my favorites, along with the #8 that I remember my dad ordering(while this is simple, the flavors are really enjoyable) and then there is of course the margarita! They do have pitchers as well. I even had a baby shower for my friend a few years ago in their upstairs room. They do a buffet style and charge per person; its a nice place to have a small to medium get together. I will say their parking is not the best, but because they aren't that busy normally, the parking lot is usually open. I'm not sure why I didn't take a photo of anything this last time, but I will next time and add it to this review

This location would have been a solid 5 stars if the service was better. Like we had to get up to ask for another margarita. Like take the glass to the bar (they sent me back with the glass)and just said "ok" so it was like a 18 minute wait for the second drink and by then they may have been able to sell us 3 instead of 2but we weren't here for the drinks my mama and I were here for the food. We had a combo plate with a cheese enchilada and chicken taco. Delicious! The rice and beans were amazing- my madrè and I pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food due to what we can make at home... this was a lot like home. We sat outside in their covered patio on a beautiful day and enjoyed the food and drinks. My mom had a mango margarita and we were pleasantly impressed by how they made it with real mango not puréed stuff from a bottle. We would definitely recommend this location and be back if in the area.
